A fuel designed for the performance enthusiast who wants a high-octane extremely clean burning fuel. This was the control fuel for GRAND-AM (Rolex Daytona 24 Hours) until end of 2005 when some fuel cell manufactures had some problems with fuel bladders reacting with the Ethanol content in the Sunoco 260 GT. From 1st of January 2006, GRAND-AM have replaced the Sunoco 260GT with the Sunoco 260GTX which does not contain any oxygen (ethanol).

It does not conform to the BS 7800 (Super Unleaded) and BS EN228 (Premium Unleaded) due to it contains more than the maximum amount of oxygen (2.7%). However, if the fuel is downblended with 25% of normal Super Unleaded or Premium Unleaded the maximum level of 2.7% will be achieved. It is suitable for racing purposes and high performance street vehicles, powerboats, jetskis, motorcycles etc. In fact, engines with compression ratios as high as 14:1 will benefit greatly from this powerful clean and fast burning fuel. It is oxygenated to improve engine breathing to improve power in engines with air fuel restrictors.

It blends with any pump fuel (for those who want to boost the octane of normal petrol) and provides great protection against knock (pinking or detonation). It contains no lead. The oxygen carrier is Ethanol - please call us regarding potential issues with fuel cells before using any ethanol based fuels.
