Sunoco Daytona Challenge 2012 Driver Standings

Felipe Nasr 2012 Challenge Winner!

The third Sunoco Rolex 24 At Daytona Challenge has been hotly contested by drivers in the Cooper Tires Formula 3 International Series, Avon Tyres British GT Championship and the Britcar MSA British Endurance Championship but has been won by British Formula 3 champion Felipe Nasr.

In the penultimate British F3 round at Donington Felipe needed to score just 12 points in order to win the challenge and with 20 points available for pole position Felipe knew what he had to do! It was a very close qualifying session with Racing Steps Foundation driver Jack Harvey fighting hard for the top spot, however Felipe bounced back and went faster by 0.064 seconds.

“It’s such a great feeling – winning the championship 3 weeks ago was amazing and this is definitely up there with that. I want to thank everyone for this opportunity; it’s a big thing for me and is a massive mark in my career. I will be taking it very seriously and I will take it forward and do my very best. I can’t wait to get stuck in!” Felipe Nasr, 2012 Sunoco Rolex 24 at Daytona Challenge winner
