The Sunoco Challenge standings latest!
Well, we are a third of a way into the Sunoco Challenge season and the standings are all over the track! Last weekend at Rockingham we saw Radical Enduro's Scott Malvern pushing hard with team-mate Nick Jones to go on to achieve a second place and a win and earn vital points towards the Sunoco Whelen Standings. Despite that, it was only enough to move Malvern up one place and ahead of Radical Euro Masters Victor Correa by just half a point!
British GT3's Alexander Sims still leads the 2016 Sunoco Whelen Challenge by an impressive 7.33 points and he will no doubt be doing his best to gain a wider lead when he takes the wheel with his team-mate, Marco Attard, at Silverstone at British GT this weekend. Together they are also leading their British GT3 Championship, so it will be exciting what the results are after the 3 hour race this Sunday 31st May.
1. Alexander Sims British GT3 95.33
2. Rory Butcher British GT3 88.00
3. Liam Griffin British GT3 88.00
4. Scott Malvern Radical Enduro 87.50
5. Victor Correa Radical SR8 Euro 87.00
Meanwhile in the Sunoco 200 Challenge we saw Paddy McClughan in Radical Sprint snatch back his Challenge lead after a near perfect weekend with three pole positions, three fastest laps and two wins at Rockingham last weekend. This knocked MINI Challenge's Neil Newstead off the top spot by less than 1 point, for now at least, but only time will tell what else will happen during the rest of the Sunoco 200 Challenge season!
British GT4 racers who are eligible for the Sunoco 200 Challenge will also be attempting to gain points towards the Sunoco 200 Challenge this weekend at Silverstone...watch this space for results after the weekend!
1. Paddy McClughan Radical Sprint 100.00
2. Neil Newstead MINI Challenge (JCW) 99.33
3. Rob Smith MINI Challenge (Gen 3) 96.67
4. Graham Johnson British GT4 88.00
5. Mike Robinson British GT4 88.00
