WALTER SETS SNETTERTON ABLAZE

Hitech Racing's Walter Grubmüller underlined his Hockenheim race-winning pace by setting fastest time of the day today (Tuesday) at the Snetterton circuit in Norfolk, venue next weekend (4/5 July) for rounds nine and 10 of the Cooper Tires British Formula 3 International Series.

Grubmüller's Mercedes-powered Dallara set its best time in the morning session: 1m 01.434s, a mark none of his rivals could match. Championship leader Daniel Ricciardo came closest in his Carlin Dallara-Volkswagen, a tenth off the pace; Ricciardo was quickest in the afternoon session, just ahead of his Carlin team-mate Max Chilton.

Carlin's new signing, Canadian Philip Major, ended his first test 16th overall. The leading National Class runner was T-Sport's Gabriel Dias, a creditable 12th overall.
