Ten of the best for Team Hydrex Rallycross!

Hydrex backed Rallycross ace Pat Doran and his son Liam will be taking part in the annual all round performance event 'Ten of the Best', which will be hosted near York on 27th July.

 'Ten of the Best' is being held on an unused airfield at Elvington near York and the purpose of the event is to weed out the top ten all-round cars from across Europe by competing in a number of mixed type events such as fastest lap, drag shootout's, highest top speed and fastest timed handling lap which will produce several categories of winners and an eventual overall champion.

 The benchmark for some of the top speed categories (200mph) may be a little unrealistic for the Doran's as the Rallycross cars are geared for power, torque and acceleration rather than top end. 

Liam Doran: "It is an absolute honour for Hydrex Team Rallycross to be invited to take part in this fantastic event - It's great what they do here and there are some serious qualification and point scoring processes to get through to appear in that exclusive top ten club. I reckon we have a pretty good chance with the majority of 'tests' as both the Fiesta and RS200 Supercar's are setup for top level Rallycross, the circuit layout's and sprint runs they use are tight, twisty and have some good long straights - there are some good opportunities for us to prove our worth over the 1/4 mile stretches and drag races too!" 

Pat Doran will be attending the event providing that his recently purchased ex-Carnegie Fiesta will be restored to top shape after performing at several rounds of the European Rallycross Championship throughout June and July. His regular Fiesta Supercar was destroyed by fire recently in transit to last weekend's ERC round at Norway and will be completely stripped and rebuilt over the coming months.
