Anders Hildebrand, Managing Director of Sunoco supplier Anglo American Oil Company Limited (AAOC) is “…delighted to be supplying Sunoco as the control fuel for the Silverstone Britcar 24hr Race.”
The deal, between AAOC and James Tucker, Director of Britcar Ltd and Britcar 24 Hr Ltd, was inked at the Autosport International show at Birmingham’s NEC on Sunday, January 17th 2010.
As James Tucker noted, “We are very pleased to have made the arrangement with AAOil for them to be the exclusive supplier to the Silverstone Britcar 24hr Race. Their commitment to quality and service mirrors the high standard of the competitors at the event and their enthusiasm for Britcar will be make them a welcome addition to our partners and supporters.”
The Britcar 24hr Race on the 1st-3rd October 2010 is the highlight of the British Endurance Racing calendar. Now in its sixth year the event has grown from strength to strength with a quality field of competitors from around the world competing for the coveted Britcar Gold Cup.
The Britcar 24hr Race, held on the hallowed tarmac of the Silverstone Grand Prix circuit, allows enthusiastic amateurs to battle for class and overall honours against professional teams and drivers in marques such as Aston Martin, Porsche, Ferrari, BMW, Lotus, Seat, Renault, MG, Mosler, Nissan, Jaguar, TVR and more.
The race is contested by five separate classes split by power-to-weight ratios to ensure close contests up and down the field. Previous winners include the Mosler of Short/Baife/Derbyshire/Jacobs, which achieved 603 laps, and the Porsche 997 RSR of Sumpter/Slater/Purdie, also managing 603 laps.
This year’s Britcar 24hr Race is bound to attract a large crowd with free weekend tickets available on the Britcar website www.britcar24hr.co.uk/tickets. Spectators are advised to book their tickets soon.
