FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Stuart Hall takes an early lead in the
Rolex 24 At Daytona Driver Challenge Presented by Sunoco
After the opening rounds of the Cooper Tires British F3 International Series and the
Avon Tyres British GT Championship at Oulton Park yesterday, it is GT driver Stuart
Hall who has taken an early lead in the chase for the
Rolex 24 At Daytona DriverChallenge Presented By Sunoco.
Sharing the Rollcentre-entered Momo Mosler with young Daniel Brown, Stuart won
both British GT races and took points for pole position time and the fastest lap in
race 2.
This gives him the advantage over the young Australian, Daniel Ricciardo, who won
both the British F3 races in commanding style, despite not being on pole position for
either of them, nor setting either fastest lap.
Stuart, himself a former British F3 driver, said: “I now have two ambitions for this
season. Obviously, the first is to win the British GT Championship, because that was
always the main target, but after yesterday I have this thought in my mind that it
would be a massive bonus to win the Sunoco Challenge because it is such an
amazing award. I finished 4
th at Le Mans in 2007, so I know what 24-hour races areabout, and it would be fantastic to race and, hopefully, do well in the Rolex 24 At
Daytona, which is another of the world’s great 24-hour races.”
The Radical UK Cup contenders for the Challenge will have the chance to open their
account towards it when they race this weekend at Rockingham.
