Rochester-based Aaron Steele is looking forward to getting back behind the wheel this weekend as the MSV F3 Cup heads to his home circuit of Brands Hatch once again, this time on the Grand Prix configuration. Last time out Steele dominated the weekend and almost completed another clean sweep after securing two pole positions. Unfortunately after leading the race he along with a number of other competitors exited the circuit after a backmarker dropped some oil. Steele would take the win in flawless style for the second race of the weekend. Looking ahead to this weekend Steele said: "I am really excited about getting to drive on the Grand Prix circuit at Brands hatch and it can't come soon enough for me! I have raced on it several times before but there’s always something very special about it with its amazing history. Not to mention the chance to race on it due to many restrictions is very limited, adding to the specialness of it.” Along with the excitement of the full circuit Steele is also looking forward to racing in front of his home crowd again. “Appearing in front of my home crowd, at a circuit I regularly work at as an instructor will be great; my plan for the weekend is just to focus on getting more of those extremely important Sunoco Challenge points and increasing my lead. You never know what’s round the corner and a few car failures could drop me right down the leader board, like what happened after the Donington park rounds.” Steele will be watching the weather forecast with interest this week following the downpours that almost threatened to wash away the race weekend last time out. “I’m hoping for a drier weekend after last time where it was a bit of a washout. Being August is that too much to ask of the British summer weather? I hope not..." |
