Britcar at Spa

Michael Millard and Ian Heward took the Britcar British MSA Endurance Championship win in their flat-six.co.uk Prosport ahead of Henry Fletcher and Raphael Fiorentino in their Topcats Racing Marcos Mantis.

Craig Wilkins and Aaron Scott took a great third with their GT3 Racing Dodge Viper and increased their average point score putting them in joint 12th place.

Paul White and Calum Lockie in their Strata 21 Mosler MT900R crossed the finish line in fourth just in front of the pole sitting Nigel Mustill/Bob Berridge Aquilla CR1.

Javier Morcillo and Manual Cintrano had some bad luck with their Neil Garner/Azteca Motorsport Mosler MT900R. With no power steering and gearbox issues driving the car was very difficult - in particular for Manuel Cintrano who was first in the car and dropped down the field.

Javier Morcillo who was once leading the challenge lost out on points after his streak of pole position point scores was broken by Bob Berridge in his Aquilla CR1. Morcillo and Cintrano went on to finish sixth and therefore lowered their average point scores dropping Javier down into fourth place in the Sunoco Daytona Challenge. This has meant that British GT driver Marcus Clutton has jumped up into second and British F3 driver Lucas Foresti into third.

‘The problems with the car cost us dearly and lost us another chance of winning....but hey that’s racing!” Javier summed up the race.

In Britcar class 3 Owen O’Neil and Neil Huggins took the win. Second place went to Rod Barrett, Jan Persson and Jay Sheppard, who were back at Spa after missing out on the Truxton round due to Jan breaking his ankle during a jogging accident.
