Britcar 24hr at Silverstone

What a weekend – amazing weather, a great turnout and 24 hours of brilliant endurance racing!

The Britcar 24 hours at Silverstone was held this weekend and with over 50 cars on the grid it truly was a great weekend and action packed from the start right up until the checkered flag.

It was the Eclipse Motorsport/Signia Developments Ferrari 430 who took the win, driven by Sean McInerney, Michael McInerney and Phil Keen; they finished 13 laps ahead of nearest rivals Nicolas Mee Racing and their Aston Martin GT4 who took the class 3 win.

“This is the team’s sixth attempt at a 24hr and our 2nd as a team of drivers, to win is an amazing feeling. The team worked incredibly hard and however good it feels for us it feels equally as good for them – they’re the ones that made it happen and got us out there and we are really thankful to them.” Sean McInerney, Eclipse Motorsport/Signia Developments

The Topcats Racing Marcos Mantis took the class 2 win and but it was in fact another class 3 car who took third place – the Marcos Racing Lotus Evora.

Taking the class 4 win was the Bruswick BMW M3 E46 with a 6 lap advantage over the Seat Leon of Dutch team Red Camel.

The Anglo American Oil Team had the task of delivering Sunoco fuel around the clock to the team’s garages and carried out the task with great success.

“This weekend was great and it was fantastic to see so many spectators enjoying the race! The team worked hard and although a bit frazzled everyone thoroughly enjoyed fuelling the event. A massive congratulations to the Eclipse/Signia team for a well deserved win!” Anders Hildebrand,  MD of Anglo American Oil Company
